Monumental Architecture

Historical monuments encompass urban or rural settlements that bear witness to a particular civilization, significant development, or historical event, in addition to including architectural landmarks. This concept not only encompasses grand works of art but also simpler ones that have acquired cultural significance over time. A monument is an integral part of the environment in which it exists, bearing witness to the history it is surrounded by. To preserve and restore monuments, all sciences and techniques that can contribute to the study and conservation of architectural heritage should be utilized.
